Helping students take control of AI-generated feedback
(Presented to Studocu during the interview process)
MY ROLE
Product Designer
Led discovery, co-creation, interaction design and usability testing
THE TIMELINE
6 months
THE PRODUCT
FeedbackFruits’ Automated Feedback tool gives university students instant AI-generated feedback on their academic writing, based on criteria selected by their instructors.
THE PROBLEM
Instructors selected the feedback criteria for students in advance, leaving students with little ownership over what they wanted to improve. Deakin University wanted students to identify their own writing needs and use automated feedback independently, without creating additional work for instructors.
THE GOAL
Enable students to choose and use relevant feedback criteria independently, helping them take ownership of improving their academic writing while requiring minimal instructor involvement.
About the project
Developed in partnership with Deakin University, this project combined research, co-creation with students and instructors, rapid prototyping and usability testing. After many experiments, the winning solution was adopted by six new institutions and achieved 60% customer satisfaction.
